Little Pink Houses

A few weekends ago, my mom, sisters, friend, and I spent a fabulous weekend shopping papercrafting stores. Oh, so much paper and so many embellies! We were drooling and doing our part once again to boost the economy.  J
Whenever we get together for these crafty outings, we usually give each other little presents. Nothing big or expensive, just something we made or a great deal we found. Little somethings to inspire each other and that say "hey, I was thinking about you when I made / found this"...and isn't that just the best?!

As usual, I received some fantastic goodies from the gals!  For them, I made these little altered bird houses, each one a bit different to suit the personality of each woman. These pinkies were created for my sister, Jenny, and friend, Sue.

A Couple Details:

  • The bird houses are actually wooden tag shapes that I've had in the stash for many years.  I covered the fronts with various My Mind's Eye Lost & Found papers (some of my absolute favorite papers).
  • Each features a Tim Holtz key hole embellishment as the "door".  I used alcohol inks to make them blend better with the pink and brown color scheme.
  • The "Possibilities" house also features a beautiful bird's nest digital image from The Graphics Fairy.
I'll have the other bird houses coming your way soon!
