My Favorite Things About Mom

Happy Mother's Day!

I admit it.  I'm a complete and hopeless addict to My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pads.  They're so pretty!  The papers are scaled just perfectly for tags and cards. And the colors and patterns...oh my!

I recently purchased some of the Miss Caroline collection papers and stamps and was itching to play with them, so I created this tag for my mom as part of her Mother's Day present.  I used the "Fiddlesticks" papers and stamps and really love the soft colors and details on this tag.
The Details:
  • I love this pastel painted wood paper...it's so adorable.  I tore the top and bottom edges and layered it along the bottom of the tag.  I stamped "MOM" in brown and traced it in Glossy Accents to make it pop up from the background.  Some crocheted lace trim along the bottom and tiny mother-of-pearl buttons finish off this section.
  • This little journaling tag was cut from a 6x6 tag collage.  I added some of my favorite things about my mom in brown pen and accented the edges with Old Paper Distress Stickles.  The little blossoms are stamped on patterned paper using two to three colors of pigment ink.  I blended the colors to mimic the painted wood paper colors from the bottom border.  Dots of Bisque Liquid Pearls form the flower centers.
  • These larger flowers were stamped with yellow and lilac tones onto pale yellow patterned paper.  Fussy-cut and accented with Distress Stickles, I used pop up Glue Dots to give them extra dimension.  A scrap of crocheted lace trim and a fluffy seam binding bow with a corsage pin accents the flower cluster.
  • This butterfly tag was also cut from the 6x6 collage paper.  I layered it onto a banner cut from coordinating plaid paper, then accented the butterfly with Frayed Burlap Distress Stickles, and added the Liquid Pearls dots.
