Peace on Earth

Sharing a card today using non-traditional Christmas colors...grey-blue and ivory with a touch of brown.  While I do enjoy building up layers and loading on the embellishments, I love the simplicity of this card.  The color scheme seems so serene...so peaceful.

"Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
Luke 2:13-14

For a bit of antique sparkle, I added Old Paper Distress Stickles to the garland, ornaments, and stars in the central stamped image.

I made my own simple trinket tag by punching out the "Peace On Earth" sentiment using a circle punch and then layering a second slightly larger circle of patterned paper behind it.  I then used scallop decorative scissors to edge the patterned paper circle and hung the tag using a jump ring.

Challenges:

Supplies:
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up! ‘Bordering Blue’, ‘Confetti White’
Pattern Paper: My Mind’s Eye The Merry Days of Christmas ‘All Aglow’
Stamps: Inkadinkado
Inks: Archival Ink ‘coffee’; Distress Ink ‘Old Paper’
Embellishments: Distress Stickles ‘Old Paper’; Hobby Lobby lace; Papertrey Ink rustic button twine; ribbon fibers; Tim Holtz jump ring

Tools: Tim Holtz paper distresser; Coluzzle; scallop scissors; foam ink blending tool; hole punch

  3. Lorie,
For the lace ribbon, I just used my tape runner (I use Tombow Monoadhesive). The brown ribbon and button twine are actually tied around a lope in the lace ribbon.

    Hope this helps!
