Lucky Banner

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I realized a few weeks ago that I don't have much in the way of St. Patrick's Day decor, so I whipped up this simple banner to hang in my living room.  If you have an electronic cutter, this goes together very quickly and can be displayed in no time.

Just A Few Details:
  • I used my Cricut and Sure-Cuts-A-Lot (SCAL) program to cut five tags from recycled cereal boxes, and five tags from decorative paper.  These are approximately 2-3/4" wide by 4-1/4" high.
  • Using "Stonecross" font, I cut "LUCKY" from light green cardstock, then cut the shadows from black cardstock to really make the letters stand out from the vintage image backgrounds I'd be using.  The green letters were given a layer of Crystal Stickles before layering onto the black.
  • The vintage St. Patrick's Day images are from Vintage Holiday Crafts and were sized to fit the tags with a narrow border around each side.  I rounded the corners and inked the edges with Distress Inks.
  • Finally, the tags were tied onto green gardening twine with green satin ribbon for hanging.
Easy peasy!
