Challenges Entry: June Coaster Art

Sharing a "twofer" challenge entry today.  This one features another technique from the ever fabulous Tim Holtz and is my submission to Studio L3's Grungy Monday 12.  It also qualifies for Simon Says Stamp & Show Some Metal.

A Few Details:
  • I recently purchased some coasters from Papertrey Ink and have great plans for them.  They are a great weight for a variety of uses and I see many people using them as a type of ATC.  So many ideas, so little time.  (Wish I didn't have to have that "real" job...it really gets in the way of my crafting...LOL!)  Anyway, I used a coaster here as a mini canvas.
  • When creating my version of Tim's technique, I actually used two stamps.  First, I stamped the crackled background, then I stamped the large flourish.
  • Once both images were stamped in embossing ink, I added clear embossing powder and embossed both images together, creating one unified image.

Supplies:
Paper
: PTI coaster, SU! card stock ‘So Saffron’; scrap background papers
Stamps: SU!; Inque ‘Ornaments’
Inks: Top Boss Embossing Ink; Distress Ink ‘Vintage Photo’, ‘Barn Door’, ‘Wild Honey’; Delta acrylic paint ‘Dark Burnt Umber’
Embellishments: metal bee; metal bee skep; paper flowers; K&Co fabric brad; Bobbin Ribbon; TH tissue tape ‘Nostalgic’; clear embossing powder

Tools: TH paper distresser; foam ink blending tool; glue dots; glossy accents; foam make-up applicator; Tombow Monoadhesive; emery board; heat gun; 3M Super77 spray adhesive
