Diecut Designer is a brand new site devoted to SVG files. Not only one-stop-shopping for SVGs, but also a community where you will have questions answered, be inspired and "hang" with others who share your passion for electronic cutting. All machines and software are included in the forums. So if you're not familiar with SVGs or just getting started, it's a great place to learn more!
Cindy at The Creative Pointe has created some really great SVG files that can be used exactly as designed, or altered to fit your needs. In the MOM Heart Card below, I kept the design as-is and focused on adding detail with other elements.
The Details:
- To give the "MOM" open lettering a little something special, I filled in the letters using Crackle Accents. I just love the dimension it added.
- Vellum that has been scalloped with decorative scissors, torn, and distressed with Vintage Photo DI is layered behind the heart to add a faux lace touch.
- I used Tim Holtz's Texture Fades & Distress technique on the background, which is a great way to add subtle interest.
- I'm having a love affair with crepe paper lately. I mean really, it adds such an easy, pretty accent to any project and you can get two giant rolls for $1 at any dollar store...what's not to love?!
I know you'll find some inspiration at Diecut Designer, so be sure to check it out. There's new stuff added all the time. This "MOM Heart Card" SVG file that I used for my inspiration can be purchased HERE.
